Trading Card Template + Examples | Design & Art Project

$3.00

TRADING CARDS! + EXAMPLES | A4 Printable Template(s)

Because we all know having examples is what sells a project as it can help students visualise the outcome. These have been hand illustrated by me and used as examples in my own classroom!!

A great quick project that includes the making of small artworks and interacting with classmates as student trade their final images. I use it with my senior Art & Design students but could be used in multiple year levels across different subject areas.

This PDF includes the printable A4 template that I use with my high school art & design students and the examples I created myself to support the project. Each student receives this template (I usually print it on wet-strength card 230gsm) and creates 9 individual works of art to then cut out and trade with their classmates. They are encouraged to use any material and usually, I make the topic something of interest to them but could also refer to the content you are currently studying/looking at.

Usually, the 9 artworks are similar in their style but the colour, subject matter, or layout is different between each separate image to create cohesion within the artist's "set". This, and their miniature size, mimics trading cards allowing for them to be traded in a fun and quick end activity to the project. Students can keep one for themselves and have 8 unique artworks from their classmates.

I encourage you to join in too!

Sometimes I do this in class over a few lessons or as a homework task with a "final trading date" confirmed in an upcoming lesson. Or for Art Club!

*Your digital download will be delivered to you as a zipped folder - you will need to unzip and read the T&C’s then the PDF template is free for you to use and print.

Enjoy!

Introducing My Latest Project: Neuraffirm

I’m thrilled to showcase my latest project, a branding journey for Neuraffirm, founded by Selah, an occupational therapist dedicated to empowering neurodivergent individuals.

This branding reflects Selah's unique approach to therapy and her commitment to creating a supportive environment for her clients. Every element, from the logo to the colour palette, has been thoughtfully crafted to resonate with the warmth and inclusivity of her practice. Controversial opinion incoming: I don’t make booklets for senior design projects anymore.

Instead, I give them A3, double-sided instruction sheets with everything they need laid out clearly in one place.

📁 They pop them in the clearfile they
Teaching design isn’t just about the final product.. it’s about making the process visible.

Last week I shared a process log template I created for my students to track their independent learning, skill-building, and creative decisions a
