The Basics ! A3 Printable Colour Wheel Template

$4.00

For use towards colour theory and basic understanding of colour mixing with paint. Can be used with other materials and mediums too!

This A3 template includes:

  • Six sections for students to paint Primary & Secondary Colours

  • Space to apply tints in the outside ring, using white paint

  • Boxes for Warm & Cold colours

  • Complementary/Opposite Colour

I love to use these colour wheel templates alongside a discussion of colour theory and this particular template is a great intro to the basics! Cover Primary, Secondary, Warm, Cold, and Complementary colours all on one page, with the addition of tints for fast learners.

This template can be purchased once and used for years with your students. I tend to push print to a class set of 30 for junior students and am set for 1-2 lessons. Plus, I find it a great way to continue to develop brush skills as students try to stay inside the lines. Once completed, students can stick in their books to reference later if needed.

*Example is free to download in my shop!

*Your digital download will be delivered to you as a zipped folder - you will need to unzip and read the T&C’s then the PDF template is free for you to use and print.

Enjoy!

Controversial opinion incoming: I don’t make booklets for senior design projects anymore.

Instead, I give them A3, double-sided instruction sheets with everything they need laid out clearly in one place.

Teaching design isn’t just about the final product.. it’s about making the process visible.

Last week I shared a process log template I created for my students to track their independent learning, skill-building, and creative decisions a
